Photographer And More!

We officially have a Photographer! His name is Devon and he is one of James' friends. I know he will do great and his is giving us a great deal! We are very excited to work with him.

James had a few issues with Men's Warehouse...but it looks like he got all of that straightened out today. He will have both of the suits he order in his hands next week :-) Just in time for some weddings in June as well.

I picked up the rest of our Save The Dates...so the final batches should go out very soon :-)

I also did a little testing on some center piece ideas and other flower ideas that are in the works. I think some days James thinks I am crazy with my ideas...but for the most part...he is the best helper a girl could ask for during this time. I was actually afraid he would be too interested and have too much feed back LOL...but it is actual perfect. He allows me to do so much exactly how I want and where there is need for improvement he chimes in!

Tomorrow night I am meeting with my Mom and a lady named Pam who gave me my first hair cut ever. She has been close to Mom and I for awhile now. She is super creative and has a lot of supplies. So I am excited to talk to her and see what she comes up with. And I am going to ask her to be "My Person" for the day of the wedding. We won't have a wedding coordinator or anything. But I want her there to add small touches or help with my hair or make up through out the night. So hopefully, she will say yes and the rest will fall into place!

Holiday Weekend!

We survived our Holiday Weekend...Did you survive yours????

We did a lot of Family stuff here and there and now it is back to work Tuesday :-(

A few wedding things were accomplished over the last few days:

I bought a cute stamp to use on different wedding things here and there :-)

We got a good feel for our possible/most likely caterer and what our options will be...and we will follow up with them in the next few days

We basically decided on a photographer...we just need to move forward with a few details with them

Our engagement picts are scheduled (can't remember if I already talked about that yet)

After agonizing over all the web ideas and recommendations I finally decided on a wedding favor...its a new concept...it will be a surprise, but it will be very obvious and no one will be surprised lol. Hopefully, everyone will understand its importance and like the idea :-)

This week my wedding goals:

Follow up concerning James' suit
Complete our registries
Decide on a hotel for our guests and block rooms
Complete the design of our invitations...yep we get to design them!!!! :-)

The Weekend

Today is kind of a non wedding day...which is fine with me. We are just happy to have the weekend here...hopeful that we can have fun...but go into next week...ready for the week. Our house...thanks to James has finally recovered from our vacation :-)

Today, wedding wise all we really did was buy stamps and get the save the dates 100% ready. We are continue to update addresses on our list. I think we are missing 7 which isn't bad and we will have them soon!

I've done a lot of wedding googling today...James has done a lot of honeymoon googling today.

For me I am stuck on wedding favors...I just have no clue. None of them seem worth the money or practical. I am really stuck on this one and need some help...any ideas?????

Center Pieces

I've had my "wedding colors" for awhile but because we are not having a wedding party they really aren't as important or as obvious, except when it comes to center pieces.

I knew that I wanted to be thrifty when it came to this...but I was afraid I would have trouble visualizing what I wanted in order to be thrifty. For me I am leaning more towards candles and that type of decorations as opposed to flowers everywhere. There will be flowers...don't worry...but I am just not a huge flower girl and I really like candles.

So, in our search for floating candles for the pool, I came across a site that is a good deal and may have me sold on the essential parts of my center pieces :-)

Ordering on line makes me a little nervous just cause I am pretty much a visual person. But, with all the details and measurements provided...I think I can make this work!

The Bell Was Rung!!!

This is my dress story with just enough details to get the idea without giving too much away.

So, last night Mom and I went to our appointment at David's Bridal and it was a success. At first I was nervous because it seemed like all our restrictions were really limiting us. For example...our budget, our time constraint, and our style preferences.

Sonya was the lady helping us and she grabbed about 6 dresses for me to get started with.

The first dress was so beautiful. It was very fancy and was marked down from $1400. So it was definitely beautiful. It was of course amazing to see on...which I think the first dress always as that wow factor. Though it was beautiful it wasn't exactly what I envisioned, so I was ready to see what was next.

Dress #2 was definitely more of what I had imagined. I was excited to see it on...but bummed out that it was a size too small so it was definitely going to have to be altered :-(  However, we got it on me enough to get the affect and I was so thankful that it looked so good. I really liked it. It was what I had envisioned and it looked good and it has some really cool features/extras. We liked it but wanted to see what else there was.

Dress#3 wasn't awesome on the rack, but Sonya said it looked amazing on. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it on :-( It was the wrong size. Sonya went to grab a different size but they didn't have it. So she grabbed another dress.

Dress#4 I didn't like at all. It was more A-line and the design on it made me look WIDE...a big NO from me.

Dress #5 was almost identical to Dress #2 but was on sale and was a little less fancy. I was anxious to put it on and see what I thought. It was really pretty but I wasn't a fan of the longer train. But, we looked into a bustle. I liked it and felt I could settle with it, but I wanted to try on Dress#2 one more time to see if I could be really happy with Dress #5.

So, as I am putting on Dress #2 again, Sonya scans it to see the real price and guess what it was on Sale too! I was thrilled and relieved that it might really be an option. Remember that this is the dress that was too small. So, once I got it on I just loved it. I really wanted this dress. So we had the alterations lady come over to talk to us about what we might need and costs. I would need the front of the top taken in and the side/back of the top let out....$120 and I would need it hemmed....another $120...and then a bustle...$35. Holy crap an extra $275 not gonna work. I was crushed.

Sonya looked at me and said girl lets get rid of that bra. So we headed in the dressing room, lost the bra and by some miracle we got it zip and it was PERFECT!!!!!  I was so excited. So that knocked off one of the $120 alterations and if I can find the right shoe no hem will be needed so a $35 bustle I can handle!

So dress found, the bell at David's Bridal was rung and it was great! I'm happy to mark that off my to do list...but I am more excited that I found a dress that I love, love, love and I can't wait to wear it!!!!!

Dresses Dresses Dresses!

Yep! Tonight I am headed to try on dresses with my Mom. I am super excited! I am a little nervous cause I have in my head the style that I like...but it is an entire different story once you put it on. So I am hoping what I think I like looks good on me!

Also, getting this message totally made my day :-) :

"Happy Dress Day!!! I Love You Sooo Much."

Wish me luck...hopefully I will find my dream dress and it will be in my price range!!!!

Get Ready Here They Come!

James and I picked up our Save The Dates tonight!!! We didn't order the full amount for fear that we wouldn't like them. However, we did order plenty to keep us busy addressing envelopes tonight. James addressed all of his himself :-) TEAM WORK!  So, yours should be reaching you over the next week or so...so keep a look out for them!

We also did make a visit to Men's Warehouse...so a little progress there as well.

Tomorrow...Dress Time! :-)

Attire Attire Attire!!!

That's right we are moving on up! Due to this being Memorial Day Weekend coming up...Sales are all around!!!!

So, in order to take advantage...James and I are headed to Men's Warehouse tonight!!!

And Mom and I are headed to David's Bridal tomorrow night!!!!

Everything is definitely feeling very real!!!

I have also been researching table ware online. I like researching but I feel like I should buy things as they come to separate the bills a bit...but its hard to know when to wait and see and when to commit. What I should give more time and what I should just get done.

I also did a bit of playing around with wedding favors and extras. Its so cool what you can create online now. So many options and many offered at good rates.

I am ready to do some checking off on my lists!!!!!

I don't have the RSVP section up yet but I will once invites go out. So if you want to take a look...here is the link and hopefully I will have a bit more to add to it soon :-)

Then check back cause I will have some really funny out takes to share with you :-)

I sure do like checking things off our to do list :-)

And this of course was a fun process for me because I love photos and photoshop...but it was an even cooler experience because James had a hand in the creation as well. He did GOOD!

Guest List is almost 100% complete and that will be one more thing I can say "check" to as well!
