Bride & Groom Working Together!

Through this entire process James has been amazing. When I need his support, opinion and his advice he has been there to give me just what I needed. And times when I ask him is it okay if I do this, this way...he is more than accepting of my decisions and my visions.

I guess every wedding planning process is so different...I mean whether or not you get married in a church or a venue or at a house...things change drastically. Whether or not you have a wedding planning. Whether or not you have a bridal party. Whether or not you are indoors or out doors. So much can make so much difference in how you can plan and what really matters when planning. For the most part the process has been fun and nice to be able to really do things my way.

This past Saturday we didn't really have much going on during the day so we decided to get out and run around and look at some house stuff and just get out of the house. We did do some good house errands and got a feel for some furniture items that we liked, but along the way and mostly by accident we got a few Wedding things done which was really nice. It was nice of course to be able to check them off our list, but also nice to have some things done together.

Then that evening we got to go to a Wedding ourselves...it was a really good comparison for us. The Bride and Groom had their ceremony the day before and then had the reception. It was fun to see all her decorations and how she pulled things off with it being outside and in a tent like ours.

For the most part the set backs and frustrations have been outside of James and I. And though that's a downer...the positive outlook is that James and I aren't wanting to kill each other during this process. Having the frustrations of on lookers fall upon us has mainly just made us have to talk with each other more and express our frustrations together...if anything its made us closer and more of a couple. I am sure we will re live these frustrations on a smaller scale every holiday from now on ;-) I think mainly the wedding planning has just made us extra busy and our lives more hectic and made us spend more time apart.

The Dress Is Mine!

When I picked my dress out in May...I could barely get into...but I knew we would make it work.

Then when I went to take it for it to be bustled...I was nervous about getting in it and I had been doing great with eating right and exercising til about a week before. Then James' Mom came into town we ate out a lot, I didn't run, I had alcohol, and we had my shower which I definitely ate and drank plenty. So getting in to my dress in August really stressed me out...I was very nervous...again...barely made it in.

Then, this Wednesday I was scheduled to pick it up and make sure the length on the outter skirt was correct and the bustle was good. Well, lets just say with the headaches I have been having Yoga was winning out over running and then you have the Labor Day Holiday celebrations. I went extreme enough to refuse to eat dinner before going and taking water pills the day before. Again I barely made it in.

However, the dress is complete and in my possession now!!!!

So I got 22 days to make this happen!!!! No alcohol for me and it is back to early rise running!!!! I think I will be extra happy when all this wedding stuff is over and its back to some go ol Sweet Tea and Dr. Pepper and Beer!!!!

Breathe In Breathe Out

Awhile back Mom and I bought Groupons for Zumba. We went to a class and it was great to try it out...but it just wasn't for us. We never could get to where we really both wanted to go back and kept putting it off. But because we had 4 more visits we finally made it back. When we got there we saw that there was a yoga class at the same time, so we decided to give it a try and we loved it!!!!!

Since then we have been two other times and it is just really great. We love the instructor and the class. Anyway, due to all the normal and abnormal wedding stress and wedding drama...this has been just what I needed. I am very happy that I allowed myself to be introduced to yoga!

40!

Yes 40.

40 as in 40 days til we tie the knot!!!!

Ever since James' Mom was in town for the shower I feel like not much has really gone on with wedding planning other than sitting and waiting hoping RSVPs will roll in. Knowing how many people we are entertaining is a huge part of it for me. From the beginning I was envisioning a wedding with 80 guests...no such luck...now I am just hoping we don't break 150!!! But, we have a lot of people we love and a lot of people that love us!!!!!

Even though the planning as been kind of at a stand still there is still a lot left to do.

I have a few more purchases that I need to make but they are either something I was holding off til after Labor Day or things that I need a more solid head count with.

What I am most nervous about is making it come together as a whole and a lot of that has to do with decorations and finishing touches. I am a visual person and not being about to see the tent and chairs set up...really isn't helping me :-)

I am working on the music list and that seems to be going pretty smooth.

We still have alcohol to purchase...that is still more based on RSVPs so that will be purchased soon.

Welcome bags...based on RSVPs

And basically TRIAL RUNs!!!! All the girly stuff and that is just waiting on time. Our schedule has been so crazy lately.  The last two weekends we have been doing stuff for my Dad and Lucia who just got married and before that was my shower. Basically, every weekend there has been something...but as the day approaches we are getting things done.

Guess next stop....Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties!!!!!

The Flour Shop

Concerning our Wedding Cake, we had gone back and forth with using Publix or seeking out another Bakery. Through word of mouth we had heard great things about The Flour Shop in Brentwood. So, after going to Publix a few times and getting the information we needed to compare, we decided to visit The Flour Shop. My friend & wedding consultant Pam Hall took me over to see the place since it is close to her shop. I decided I would bring Mom back here and we would see what we thought. On Friday the 10th I called to see when I would need to order my cake by. When I found out they already had 2 wedding cakes scheduled on the 29th and would only do 3...I decided we needed to go do our research there ASAP.

So, on Saturday James, Mom and I went to check everything out. The owner Iris is a complete character...very interesting to say the least. We looked at all the pictures and ended up finding something different from what I thought I wanted...but something both James and I really liked. We did a tasting and made some decisions and that was that!

Dress Fitting

Today I was scheduled to take my dress in for last minute alterations and to get the dress bustled. I was super nervous about going alone and Mom was out of town. So, Mary Katherine met me there where I would have someone to help me.

I was a little nervous about everything but it went smoothly. I will be picking up my dress Sept 5th!!!
